Adult Council: plans education and fellowship events. Meets
2nd Tuesday at 6:30 PM.
The
Cove (Afterschool Ministry): administers an afternoon
drop-in program for middle schoolers. Meets 4th Thursday at
7:00 PM. Facilitator: Ginny Kunz.
Cove Coordinator: Katie Lueck.
AIDS Task Force: Meets as called. Facilitator: Bill Fugard.
Charge/Church Conference: sets goals, elects officers, sets
pastors' salaries, acts on membership, receives annual reports,
approves building. Usually meets annually. Chair:
Santa Ana District Superintendent.
Children's Council: oversees programs for children pre-school through
5th
grade. Meets as needed. Facilitator: Dave Hattersley.
Church and Society: implements many programs involving CUMC with
community needs. Meets 1st Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM.
Facilitator: Cheri Atkinson.
Council on Ministries: coordinates work of all program committees.
Meets 2nd Tuesday in the first and second months of each quarter.
Facilitator: Marsha Grove.
Education Committee: supervises Christian education program for
children and youth. Meets 1st Tuesday of the month at
7:30 PM. Facilitator: Pam Blue
Family Life Committee: Plans and supervises
intergenerational fellowship programs and other programs to support
families in their variety of forms. Meets on call of
Co-facilitators: Hov and Chrissy Daniels
Finance Committee: develops and oversees the budget and
coordinates fund-raising. Meets 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM.
Facilitator: Bill Paton.
Foundation Board: promotes legacy, scholarship and memorial giving to
the CUMC Foundation, invests and manages
foundation funds, educates and provides resources about planned giving.
Meets in months having a fifth Tuesday, at 7:30PM. President: Jim Van Houten.
Green Team: assists the church, congregation, and community to be
better stewards of God's earth by recycling, reusing, and reducing the
impact of our harmful use of our environment. Meets at the call
of the Facilitator, Kay Goddard.
Homeless Task Force: oversees periodic housing of homeless persons
at the church facility. Meets at the call of the Facilitator,: Richard Justice.
Lay
Leadership Committee (formerly known as Nominations):
prepares a slate of officers and 100 - 150 committee members annually
and meets periodically to select replacements. Meets at the call of
the Chairperson, Rev. Jan Wiley.
Memorials and Gifts Coordinator:
Provides a point of contact for those wishing to make gifts to the
church in honor or, in memory of, or in celebration of important
persons or events in their lives. Contact: Bill Fugard.
Missions Commission: encourages support and education about
mission near and far and persons in mission. Supports such
outward-looking ministries as world missionaries, Third World Gifts
and Handarts, Heifer Project International, Bread for the World,
Southwest Community Center, United Methodist Committee of Relief
(UMCOR), and the Self-help Interfaith Program (SHIP). For details on

Sunday of each month at 11:15 AM. Facilitator: Howard Herdman.
Music Ministry: supports and coordinates choirs and special
musical events. Meets 2nd or 3rd Sunday after Worship. Music
Director: Greg Kirby.
Nursery School Committee: oversees the Nursery School at the
direction of the Administrative Board. Meets as called by
the Facilitator, Jenny Walker.
Outreach Committee: seeks to bring people to the church and to
faith in Jesus Christ. Meets 1st Monday of each month at 7:30 PM. Co-Facilitators: Dave Ghetti
and Lionel Grove.
Personnel Committee: oversees personnel policies and job
descriptions for all lay employees. Meets at the call of the Facilitator,
Linda Wolf.
Sound System Team: The team is responsible for the operation
of the sound system for Sunday morning worship services and special
services upon request. The team consists of nine regularly
scheduled operators, two substitutes, and a technical advisor.
Meets as needed by Team leader: Don VanWinkle.
Staff/Pastor Parish Relations: oversees the work of our
pastors. Advises the congregation, the District Superintendent,
and the personnel involved with regard to staff positions.
Meets 2nd Monday of each month at 7:30 PM. Facilitator: Bill Simpson.
Trustees, Board of: oversees and maintains all church facilities
and property, and serves as the church's Board of Directors. Meets 1st Tuesday
of each month at 7:30 PM. Chair: Duane Hurtado.
United Methodist Women: is open to all women of the church,
emphasizes growth and mission outreach which has many small groups
meeting at various times.. Meeting of the Executive Board is at 8:00 AM
on the 1st Saturday of the month. Meeting of the general membership is
at 7:30 PM on the 3rd Monday of the month. President: Vicki
Shuttleworth.
Web
Site Team: responsible for the
development and maintenance of CUMC's web site. Meets a the call
of the Team Leader, Don Van
Winkle.
Worship Committee: with the senior pastor and music director,
initiates, plans and assists in worship services. Meets on the 4th
Tuesday of the month at 7:30 PM. Facilitator: Chuck Glenn.
Youth Council: initiates and supervises the church program for junior and senior high
youth.
Meets on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 7:30PM. Facilitator: Marty Drake.
