Charitable Giving
Some thoughts about
Planned Giving …
Remembering your
church as part of estate planning can be a personally fulfilling way to
extend your legacy as a church member to reach beyond your personal
day-to-day or week-to-week association with your fellow church-family
members or as a part of your CUMC work-area and fellowship ministries.
There are many
ways to arrange for such a charitable commitment, most of which provide
favorable tax treatment
and can allow you to retain full control and use of your assets
during your lifetime. Those can range from outright gifts of cash,
securities or other tangible property, to more complicated vehicles such
as a charitable gift annuity or a charitable remainder trust.
The United
Methodist Church has prepared
A
Christian Guide to Planning Your Legacy that will help
you gather into a single document, in an organized way, important
information about you and your family.
